April 24th- NASPAA’S AI as a Cognitive Partner in Public Service Education
I’m pleased to be speaking on “AI as a Cognitive Partner in Public Service Education,” a conversation focused on how artificial intelligence can support deeper learning, stronger judgment, and more effective preparation for public service. Rather than treating AI as a shortcut or replacement for human thinking, this session explores its role as a cognitive partner, one that can help learners synthesize complexity, test ideas, and strengthen decision-making in environments marked by uncertainty and public responsibility. I’ll discuss how educators and institutions can use AI thoughtfully to enhance learning while preserving the human capacities at the core of public service: ethics, discernment, and accountability.
